Parrots

Alexander the Great

This extraordinary Asian parrot is named after Alexander the Great, who practically brought it to Europe. Unlike parakeets, this parrot is medium in size, measuring approximately 60 cm and weighing approximately 300 g. It can be recognized by its green plumage and the red spot on its wings. The male also has a pink ring on the back of the neck, the back and neck are favorite places where they like to be petted.

They love to talk and will most likely say their first words around the age of one. Then he will continue to learn and repeat what he hears from the master. The peculiarity of these parrots is that when they communicate they use their own tone, thus making their personality felt.

This type of parrot needs exercise and therefore it is best to let it out of the cage as often as possible. If you take care of it properly you can enjoy its company for up to 30 years.

Nymph

The Nymph parrot is native to Australia, like parakeets. It measures approximately 30cm and weighs 100g. It is easily recognized by its gray body, red spots on the «cheeks» and sympathetic crest. This is a good indicator of their mood, when they are relaxed it is slightly tilted and when they are agitated it is raised.
They love company and therefore it is best that they are purchased as a pair. The peculiarity of this type of parrot is that it likes to be clean and spends up to two hours a day cleaning its plumage, and not only alone, but together with its peers.

Although he likes attention, he doesn’t like to be touched but is extremely curious and receptive, making him perfect for learning new words or tricks. Like Alexander the Great, this parrot also needs to feel free, so it should not be kept in the cage for long.
